Five Accused Arrested in Online Sex Racket Scam

Visakhapatnam: The Visakhapatnam two-town police have arrested five suspects in connection with an online sex trafficking operation.

According to the press release, the arrested suspects are identified as Gorle Naresh, 36, Gangiri Pawan Kalyan, 26, Nilagiri Venkata Lakshmi, 51, Gangiri Padma, 43, and Pedagadi Srinu, 24.

The police said that their modus operandi targeted vulnerable women from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, promising quick money. Eleven more suspects are yet to be arrested.

The investigation began with the arrest of the primary suspect, Gorle Naresh, on January 23. His subsequent interrogation led to the identification and arrest of the other four suspects, who were all remanded to custody on Thursday.

Two Town SI Tirumala Rao told Deccan Chronicle that they had initially arrested several people during a raid at a lodge. During the investigation, the victims revealed that Gorle Naresh was the person who created the website used in the scheme, and based on their confession, police arrested 10 people, followed by 5 more arrests on Wednesday, and they were remanded to custody on Thursday.

He further added that among the arrested accused, one woman had been charged with a similar offence, and the others were first-time offenders. He revealed that there are 20 more people involved in this scam, and further arrests will be made on the evidence.
