Vijayawada:A flood alert has been issued at Prakasam Barrage with an expected discharge of up to two lakh cusecs of water by Thursday.
Krishna River Conservator PVR Krishna Rao stated on Wednesday that currently, 36,500 cusecs of water is being released from the barrage. With 2.03 lakh cusecs of water being released from the Pulichintala project dam, the total discharge at the barrage is expected to rise to two lakh cusecs.
All concerned officers have been advised to remain on alert and take necessary precautionary measures to prevent any incidents along the Krishna River, both upstream and downstream of Prakasam Barrage.
