VIJAYAWADA: Housing Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy on Friday visited Divisions 32 and 52 here and participated in the distribution of food and other essentials to the flood victims.
The minister asked the officials to initiate immediate steps against the likely spread of contagious diseases in the affected areas. He inspected the Budameru areas and interacted with the people. After that, he participated in the efforts for cleaning roads and houses with the support of fire tenders.
He advised health department officials to stock medical kits to provide urgent medical assistance to the flood victims.
Parthasarathy said various government departments have joined hands to eject the stagnated flood water from various colonies. He visited Amaravati Colony, Sundaramma Dibba, Urmila Nagar and other areas.
