Tirupati: The Task Force police apprehended four smugglers and seized 12 red sanders logs along with two motorcycles near Venkatagiri in Tirupati district on Monday. The arrest came after a tip-off led to increased surveillance in the Venkatagiri forest range.
The suspects, identified as Dandu Surendra (24), Paravolu Penchalaiah (42), Tripurantapalli Venkatesh (44), and Kollangunta Suresh Babu (39), were caught during an early morning raid in the Venkatagiri forest range. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Task Force SP P. Srinivas and DSP Chenchu Babu. Authorities are currently searching for additional suspects who managed to escape during the raid.
