Four Students Go Missing From Vizag Hostel

Visakhapatnam: Four 9th Class students of St. Ann’s High School staying in a hostel within the limits of Maharanipeta police station have gone missing.

After noticing their disappearance and inquiring from the parents of students, hostel authorities have lodged a missing case with the police station.

Circle inspector Bhaskar identified the missing boys as Kiran Kumar, Karthik, Charan Teja and Raghu. He said preliminary investigations revealed that one of the four had brought Rs 12,000. He paid Rs 8,000 towards the fee before leaving with the remaining money. The inspector said they are reviewing CCTV footage and have formed a special team to locate the missing boys.

Kiran Kumar's father said he had spoken with his son on Monday. Kiran had mentioned visiting Kondagudi temple and going to the beach. The father does not know what happened afterwards.

Raghu's father Appa Rao said his son has been in the hostel for four years. He recalled that two months ago, one of the hostel staff had severely injured Raghu, which required the latter’s hospitalisation.

Appa Rao expressed frustration over the hostel management providing inconsistent updates on the missing boys.
