"We never forget sacrifices of party cadres: CM

Vijayawada:Maintaining that party activists are a major strength for the Telugu Desam, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said on Sunday, “We never forget the sacrifices made by them.”

Addressing the party leaders, activists MLAs, and village-level leaders of the TD through a teleconference, Naidu said all the nominated posts will be filled very soon and the benefit would go to leaders from the alliance parties who worked very hard.

The people, he said, have already accepted the alliance government as a good performer in its last 100 days. “All the promises made by us during the last polls are being implemented.” He asked the party activists and leaders to go to the doorstep of every house to explain the welfare measures and other policies being implemented by the government.

Declaring that the free cooking gas cylinder scheme will be implemented from Diwali, Naidu said the previous government had hurt the sentiments of the people by adulterating the sacred Tirumala laddus. “The culprits will certainly be taken to task.”

"We are bringing all the systems onto the track by correcting the mistakes of the YSRC government," he said.

The chief minister announced that the accident insurance amount for TD activists has been increased from the present `2 lakh to `5 lakh. “Efforts are being made to provide employment opportunities to youths through the Skill Development and Empowerment initiative.”

This apart, training is being imparted to students through the TDPNRI wing after which employment opportunities will be provided to them abroad, he said.

A total of 175 Anna Canteens have been opened in 100 days and the remaining canteens with one canteen for every assembly segment will be opened very soon, he said.

The CM also pointed out that a free sand supply scheme has been brought in while the new excise policy was implemented so that spurious liquor can be totally controlled.

House-sites for the poor to an extent of three cents each in rural areas and two cents each in urban areas will be distributed soon, Naidu said.

"We are moving ahead with a target of building 8.25 lakh housing units and distributing these to the poor by 2029. When Vijayawada was seriously hit by the recent heavy rainfall, we solidly stood by the flood victims," he said.
