Tirupati: A free medical camp for students from Class VI to Class IX in police and government schools, was held in Chittoor on Thursday. The initiative, a collaborative effort between Chittoor district police, Suraksha Hospital, and Apollo Hospital, provided medical services to over 200 children.
The camp, organised at the Armed Reserve Office in Chittoor, offered medical check-ups including paediatrics, general medicine, gynaecology, ENT, and eye examinations. Superintendent of police V. N. Manikanta Chandolu, attending the event, emphasized the importance of such camps in safeguarding the future of young students.
"Free medical camps are a step towards securing the future of these children." Chandolu stated. He highlighted the role of health in shaping future success and noted that such programs help raise awareness among parents about their children's well-being.
During the camp, Chandolu interacted with students, discussing their eating habits and offering advice on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. He stressed the importance of a balanced diet, particularly emphasizing the inclusion of fruits and vegetables.
Dr Muralikrishna from Suraksha Hospital and Ram Gopal Reddy, medical administrator from Apollo Hospital, led their respective teams in conducting the medical check-ups. Additional SP (admin) S. Arifulla, AR additional SP G. Nageshwar Rao, and additional SP (SEB) A. V. Subba Raju and others participated in the event.
