Ganesh Utsava Samithi Requests Free Power

Free power sought for Ganesh festival

Kakinada:Kakinada Nagara Ganesh Utsava Samithi urged the state government to provide power supply, sanitation, drinking water and other facilities to Vinayaka pandals for celebrating Vinayaka Chaturthi from September 7 to 16 on the lines of the Telangana government. Samithi President Yenimireddy Malakondaiah and the honorary president Duvvuri Subrahmanyam submitted a memorandum to the state government through email on Tuesday. They said maintaining pandals has become very expensive and the government should help the organisers to celebrate the festival grandly, reflecting Hindu tradition and culture. They said that the Telangana government is supplying power to the pandals free of cost.

Meanwhile, Kakinada district superintendent of police Vikranth Patil said the state government created a single window portal to give permissions to the Vinayaka Chaturthi pandals and the pandal organisers can get the permissions through https://ganeshutsav.net website easily. He said that if the pandal organizers send a "Hi’’ message to WhatsApp number 7995095800, the process of "No Objection Certificate’’ will be posted to the WhatsApp number. He said that pandal organisers should pay the respective fees through QR Code and get NOC and the NOC should be shown to the officials when they inspect the pandals.

Kakinada Rural circle inspector D. S. Chaitanya Krishna said the pandal organisers should not play cinema songs, obscene dances, recording dances and other dances at the pandals during Vinayaka Chaturthi and they should play devotional songs, spiritual speeches and others and protect the sanctity of celebrations.
