Girls Outperform Boys in Polycet-2026
Lokesh said equally heartening is the strong performance from tribal districts — Alluri Sitharama Raju (99.11%) , Polavaram (95.46%) and Parvathipuram Manyam (93.45%) are among the top performers in the State.

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government has released the Polytechnic Common Entrance Test-2026 results with a pass percentage of 91.37, with girls, scoring 93.57, outperformed boys who secured 89.88.
Education minister N. Lokesh released the results on ‘X’ here on Tuesday.
He said, “This year, a record 1,77,581 candidates registered for the test and 1,63,008 appeared for the examination on April 25. This was the highest participation ever. Of these, 1,48,950 have qualified, with an overall pass percentage of 91.37.”
“Delighted to note that girls have outperformed boys with a pass percentage of 93.57, a reflection of our commitment to empowering women as future technocrats and entrepreneurs of AP. Equally heartening is the strong performance from our tribal districts - Alluri Sitarama Raju with 99.11 per cent, Polavaram 95.46 and Parvathipuram Manyam-93.45 per cent.”
These, he said, are among the top performers in the state. Congratulations to all successful candidates — and, to those who missed out this time, stay determined, keep striving and success will follow.”
The state board of technical education and training, in a statement here on Tuesday, disclosed details of Polycet-2026. Accordingly, among boys, 97,176 appeared; and of them, 87,347 passed, registering a pass percentage of 89.88. Out of the 65,832 girls appeared, 61,603 passed with a pass percentage of 93.57.
The statement said, “Top three districts that scored the highest pass percentage were ASR-99.11, Polavaram-95.46 and Prakasam-94.72.”
The pass percentage in other districts include:Srikakulam-91.96, Vizianagaram-91.76, Parvathipuram Manyam-93.45, Visakhapatnam-92.38, Anakapalli-90.64, Kakinada-90.83, East Godavari-92.80, Dr BR Ambedkar Konaseema-90.17, Eluru-92.63, West Godavari-92, NTR-92.53, Krishna-91.68, Guntur-92.95, Palanadu-92.43, Bapatla-91.70, Nellore-92.70, Tirupati-92.57, Chittoor-89.40, YSR Kadapa-89.96, Annamayya-90.82, Anantapur-89.53, Sri Satya Sai-87.85, Kurnool-88.60, Nandyal-89.73 and Markapuram-90.63.
The top three rankers region-wise are: AU region-boys-Tamarala Sai Vaishnu Teja, Jami Chetan, Pindi Jagan Venkata Narasimha Swamy and girls-Total Manasa, Toleti Bernice Diya and Pitta Anusha. SVU Region-boys-Veldurthi Mokshith, Nallamaru Naga Santhosh and N Girish; and girls Tsapa Glory Hadassa, Kachana Yashaswini Reddy and Y. Veena Madhuri.
The three top rankers include: Domada Ram Gowtham who secured the first rank, Tamarla Sai Vishnu Teja the second rank and Jami Chetan the third rank.
Moreover, not less than 84,000 seats are available across 265 polytechnic institutions in which 87 are government -owned while there are 178 seats under private management for the academic year 2026-27 in AP. With 1,48,950 candidates qualified in the Polycet-2026, there is ample opportunity for them to get admission for three year diploma programmes.
