GMC seeks stakeholder suggestions for Guntur's development
VIJAYAWADA: Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) Commissioner Puli Srinivasulu announced the completion of phases 1 and 2 of the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme by December, ensuring drinking water supply to all households in GMC jurisdiction.
In a stakeholders' meeting with GMC Mayor Kavati Manohar Naidu and local representatives, the Commissioner discussed the preparation of a comprehensive action plan for Guntur’s overall development, incorporating feedback from citizens and officials.
The GMC also plans to begin a demolition drive on Amaravati Road to remove encroachments and has divided 2.5 lakh households into 786 micro pockets for sanitation tasks. Additionally, a mobile application for managing demolition debris will soon be launched, alongside tenders for commercial garbage collection services.
