Goddess Padmavathi rides Gaja Vahanam during Brahmotsavam
Tirupati: Goddess Padmavathi Devi Ammavaru captivated thousands of devotees on Monday as she majestically rode Her Golden Gaja Vahanam along the four Mada streets of Tiruchanoor Temple on the fifth day of the ongoing annual Karthika Brahmotsavams.
Tiruchanoor Gaja Vahana Seva is believed to be as significant as the Garuda Seva at Tirumala. The day’s festivities at the Tiruchanoor Temple began with the Pallaki Utsavam in the morning, with the Goddess seated on a beautifully decorated palanquin. Later, priests adorned Padmavathi Devi Ammavaru with the sacred Lakshmi Kasula Haram, a priceless ornament of Lord Venkateswara Swamy, which is sent from Tirumala to Tiruchanoor for the Goddess to wear when she rides the Gaja Vahanam and Garuda Vahanam during the Brahmotsavams.TTD Trust Board chairman B.R. Naidu formally handed over the Kasula Haram to Tiruchanoor Temple authorities for adorning Padmavathi Devi Ammavaru after special pujas. The Gaja Vahana Seva in the evening attracted a massive crowd. Thousands lined the Tiruchanoor Temple Mada streets to witness the Goddess on Her Gaja Vahanam. The procession lasted for over three hours. Faithful believe participating in the Gaja Vahana Seva clears obstacles in their lives and brings them prosperity.
