Government Committed to Reviving VSP: AP Minister Kollu Ravindra
Visakhapatnam: Minister of mines, geological resources, and excise, Kollu Ravindra, stated that the state and Central governments are committed to restoring the past glory of the Visakha Steel Plant, which was achieved through significant struggles and sacrifices.
During his visit to the plant in Visakhapatnam on Monday, the minister emphasised that the Visakha Steel Plant is an asset of the people of Andhra Pradesh. The plant underwent a thorough inspection, including the examination of blast furnace management, in the presence of officials. Ravindra underscored that the establishment of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant involved the sacrifices of numerous individuals, and the NDA government is resolute in safeguarding it. He highlighted how the previous government allegedly conspired to appropriate the plant's lands, attempting to relocate the steel plant and use the area for constructing a capital—a move Ravindra described as disgraceful. The minister asserted that protecting Visakha Steel is imperative, and with adequate support, it has the potential to become a national role model. He expressed confidence in the preservation of Visakha Steel.
