Government Ignored AP’s Formation Day, Disrespecting Potti Sriramulu’s Sacrifice: YSRC
Vijayawada: On Andhra Pradesh’s Formation Day, YSRC criticised the Telugu Desam (TD) and its allies for failing to observe the day, calling it a disrespect to Potti Sriramulu, who sacrificed his life for a separate Andhra state. Vellampalli Srinivas and former MLA Malladi Vishnu paid tribute to Sriramulu at the YSRC central office, condemning the TD's disregard for the state’s founding legacy.
Vellampalli expressed concern that the TD government not only disrespected Sriramulu’s sacrifice but also disregarded the Arya Vaisya community, of which Sriramulu was a member. He further criticised the recent TTD Board appointments, which excluded the Arya Vaisya community, questioning TD's stance toward this group.
Malladi Vishnu called for Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan to apologise publicly to the Arya Vaisya community and to reinstate November 1 as the official State Formation Day with due respect for its historical significance.
