Visakhapatnam: A tragic incident unfolded in Araku Valley, resulting in the deaths of a grandmother and her grandson. The event occurred on Saturday night at the forest department quarters in the town.
The deceased were identified as N. Chilakamma, (55), and her 7-year-old grandson Nani, both residents of Sova village in Dumbriguda mandal. They had been living in the quarters for eight years, earning a livelihood through local labour.
On the night of the incident, the family retired to bed after dinner. While other family members slept in a separate room, Chilakamma and Nani shared another. The following morning, the family discovered them deceased. The cause of death remains undetermined, and Araku Valley police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
