Guntur GGH Doctors Perform Critical Surgery Costing ₹10 Lakh for Free

Vijayawada:Doctors in the surgical gastroenterology department at Guntur Government General Hospital performed a critical surgery, valued at ₹10 lakh for free, working for seven hours to save a patient's life on Tuesday.

Disclosing the case details to the media at Susrutha Hall in the hospital, GGH superintendent Dr. Kiran Kumar and gastroenterology department assistant professor Dr. Koti Venkateswara Rao stated that the patient, identified as Kethavarapu Andraiah, was suffering from jaundice and was admitted to the hospital on August 6.

After conducting medical tests, the doctors diagnosed the patient with pancreatic cancer, which required a complicated Whipple surgery involving the reconnection of the intestines in five places. On Tuesday, the doctors successfully performed the Whipple surgery, saving the patient’s life.
