Hat-Trick Winner Kotamreddy Eyes Minister’s Berth
Tirupati: After securing a hat-trick of wins from the Nellore rural Assembly constituency, Telugu Desam leader Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy has expressed his aspirations for a ministerial berth in party chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu-led government.
Addressing the media in Nellore on Wednesday, Kotamreddy said it is natural for any elected representative to aspire for a minister's position to serve the people more effectively through the decision-making process. However, he acknowledged that the final decision rests with the party chief Naidu.
"A Cabinet berth provides an opportunity to serve the people more effectively by being part of the decision-making process at the highest level," Sridhar Reddy said. However, he affirmed that he would wholeheartedly accept whatever responsibility given to him by the party leadership.
Kotamreddy's third consecutive win made him one of the few MLAs to achieve this rare feat from the same seat. Crediting the mandate to the people, he vowed never to forget their support which he termed as the true victory in this "game" of elections.
He also acknowledged support from NDA allies and even some silent well-wishers across party lines. The TD leader also trained his guns on the YSRC, accusing them of trying to malign his reputation and insulting his family during the high-stakes polls.
He sternly warned the YSRC ranks against any illegal activities. He slammed the misuse of social media by YSRC and cautioned them of legal repercussions for such actions.
