Heavy Rain Expected in AP

Visakhapatnam: A low pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining east Equatorial Indian Ocean has become more marked and is now a well-marked low pressure area over the southwest and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal, as of Tuesday. The associated upper air cyclonic circulation extends up to mid-tropospheric levels. The system is expected to continue moving west-northwestward towards the Sri Lanka-Tamil Nadu coasts in the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, lower tropospheric northeasterly winds are prevailing over Andhra Pradesh and Yanam. According to the IMD, Amaravathi, heavy rain is likely at isolated places over south coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema on Wednesday due to the influence of the low pressure system. Thunderstorms, accompanied by lightning, are also expected at isolated places over the same areas.
