Heavy rains expected in Rayalaseema from June 15
Visakhapatnam: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Amaravati has predicted heavy rainfall in Rayalaseema, beginning June 15. The forecast indicates moderate rains for the north coastal Andhra region during the same period.
Prior to the arrival of the heavy showers, residents of north and south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema can expect scattered thunderstorms with lightning from tomorrow, June 12, until June 14.
Wind gusts reaching 30-40 kilometres per hour are also likely in these areas.
Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon has made further progress, reaching parts of the north Arabian Sea, Maharashtra, and Telangana on Tuesday. The monsoon's northern limit now stretches across Akola, Pusad, Ramagundam, Sukma, Malkangiri, and Vizianagaram.The IMD report suggests favourable conditions for the monsoon's continued advancement into more areas of Telangana and Chhattisgarh within the next 48 hours.
