High alert over Jagan’s visit to Ramagiri
Police are on high alert, as reports are that Jagan Mohan Reddy will be accompanied by thousands of party men from the erstwhile Anantapur district during the visit

ANANTAPUR: YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s scheduled visit to Papireddypalli in Ramagiri mandal, home turf of the Paritala family, to console family members of party activist K. Lingamaiah, who was killed during a clash a few days ago, has taken a serious political turn.
Police are on high alert, as reports are that Jagan Mohan Reddy will be accompanied by thousands of party men from the erstwhile Anantapur district during the visit.
Lingamaiah had been beaten to death during a clash between two families in the village a few days ago. The murder took a political turn after YSRC accused that TD men had been behind the attack. YSRC party in-charge T. Prakash Reddy accused Rapthadu MLA Paritala Sunitha of provoking the killing.
Police have given permission to the former CM to land in a helicopter near Nyamaddala village, about three kilometres from Papireddypalli.
Satya Sai SP V. Rathna has reportedly directed YSRC party to ensure that only a limited number of persons accompany Jagan Mohan Reddy. “Action will be taken against any violations,” she warned.
Interestingly, Paritala Sunitha of TD has made it clear that neither the government nor the party is against the former CM’s visit to Ramagiri mandal. She, however, hoped Jagan would not make any provocative speech. As the issue involves only a dispute between two families.
Additional forces have been posted in Ramagiri mandal and also en route to Papireddypalli.
