Vijayawada: Home minister Vangalapudi Anitha met minister for IT Nara Lokesh, at his residence in Undavalli on Wednesday. Extending Maha Sivaratri greetings, she submitted a memorandum requesting a Skill Development Centre in Payakaraopeta, citing opportunities from the Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor and Bulk Drug Park in Nakkapalli.
She also urged the establishment of a Junior College for girls in S Rayavaram, emphasising its importance for agricultural families. A dedicated college, she said, would ease financial and logistical burdens, benefiting many girls.
In a separate meeting, Andhra Pradesh Forensic Lab Director G Pala Raju briefed Minister Anitha on the Forensic Science Laboratory in Thullur. Approved in 2017 at ₹400 crore, 90% of the work has been completed within six months under the new government.
Later, Anitha offered prayers at Kanaka Durga Temple in Vijayawada and a Shiva temple, interacting with devotees and reviewing festival arrangements.
