HNSS canal lining work to be over by mid-June
Handri Neeva Sujala Sravanthi (HNSS) main canal lining works are proposed to be over by June second week in view of the unavailability of water in the Srisailam reservoir during peak summer.

Anantapur:Handri Neeva Sujala Sravanthi (HNSS) main canal lining works are proposed to be over by June second week in view of the unavailability of water in the Srisailam reservoir during peak summer.
Satya Sai district collector Chetan, during a review with the HNSS engineers at Puttaparthi on Saturday directed speeding up of the lining works from 260th milestone to 404th milestone of the project under Phase II.
The first phase of the HNSS project has been from Malyalam of Srisailam backwaters at Nandyal district towards Jeedipalli reservoir in Belaguppa mandal while the second phase towards Chittoor district covers Satya Sai district.
Puttaparthi, Bukkapatnanam, Mudigubba, Talupula, NP Kunta branch canal, Kadiri, Nallacheruvu, and Tanakal branch canal, Madakasira branch canal and Lepakshi branch canals are part of the second phase of the HNSS project.
The collector stressed the need to complete the lining works on time to release water in the coming rainy season. In addition, HNSS engineers were directed to prepare detailed project reports for the Rathnagiri and Gudibanda reservoirs as assured by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu during his visit to Madakasira.
HNSS superintendent engineer Raja Swaroop Kumar, EE Venkatesh Shetty and others were present at the event.
