Home Minister Anitha Slams Jagan Over Flood Relief

VISHAKHAPATNAM: Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha has praised Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for his proactive approach to flood relief in Andhra Pradesh, particularly in the severely affected Vijayawada region. During a media meet here on Tuesday, she highlighted Naidu's personal involvement in overseeing relief operations and cleanup efforts in flood-impacted areas.

Approximately 70 per cent of the power supply in Vijayawada was restored within three days. Drones, helicopters and help from the Indian Army were utilized in the relief operations and food supplies were ensured for all the affected, she pointed out.
Anitha criticised the opposition, particularly former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, accusing them of “attempts at sabotaging the Prakasam Barrage.” She raised concern about the ownership of boats that hit the barrage in unison, and suspected that the opposition figures prompted this.

She condemned the negative campaign on the floods on social media and highlighted the achievements of the TD government, including the completion of half of the Krishna Lanka retaining wall.
She contrasted 74-year-old Naidu's hands-on approach with Jagan's limited presence in the affected areas during the flood crises.
