Visakhapatnam: Indira Gandhi Zoological Park (IGZP) celebrated International Zebra Day on January 31 by hosting a drawing competition for students from LKG to post-graduation. As part of the Zoo School Program, the event was held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Zoo Bioscope, IGZP. Students from various schools and colleges participated, showcasing their artistic talents while learning about the significance of zebras.
"The competition provided students with a platform to express their creativity and understand the importance of zebras," said G. Mangamma, Curator, IGZP.
Mangamma also highlighted that IGZP offers individuals, school students, organisations, and institutions the opportunity to adopt a zebra for a year at Rs 60,000. The adoption covers the animal’s nutrition, medical care, and enrichment activities. Adopters receive a Certificate of Adoption, special privileges, and recognition from Vizag Zoo.
