Innovative container hospital brings healthcare to remote tribal areas in AP
Visakhapatnam: In a major development aimed at improving healthcare access for tribal communities, the Giri Arogya Kendra container hospital has begun operations in the hilltop panchayat of Salur Mandal. For the past 15 days, this innovative facility has been transforming healthcare delivery in the region, eliminating the need for 'Doli' transportation for pregnant women and the elderly.
The container hospital is equipped with a doctor’s room, four patient beds, medical testing equipment, and a television, offering comprehensive healthcare services. Strategically located, it reduces the risks and challenges faced by residents who previously had to be carried down from the hills for medical treatment.
This facility is part of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s initiative to improve healthcare infrastructure in underserved areas. Located in the Karadavalasa Panchayat under Thonam PHC, the Giri Arogya Kendra provides essential services to the tribal populations, improving their access to timely healthcare and contributing to better health outcomes.
