Investors from Karnataka keen to set up textile park at Yemmiganur

Vijayawada: Investors from Karnataka have expressed keen interest in establishing a textile park in Andhra Pradesh, citing the state's strategic advantages and investor-friendly policies.

An AP delegation, led by commissioner for handlooms and textiles Rekha Rani, has set up the Andhra Pradesh Pavilion at Bharat Tex 2025 in New Delhi (Feb. 14–17). The delegation held talks with a leading investor regarding the development of an integrated textile park at Yemmiganur in Kurnool district, expected to enhance textile production and exports, positioning Kurnool as a major textile hub.

The delegation also engaged with a Russian business team to explore export opportunities for AP’s handloom products, focusing on high-potential products for the Russian market to strengthen international trade ties.

The AP government’s Textile, Apparel, and Garments Policy 2024-25 aims to attract investors by offering competitive subsidies, seamless infrastructure, and world-class port connectivity.

Meanwhile, minister for handlooms and jute S. Saritha will visit New Delhi on Sunday to attend the event and hold discussions with investors, alongside the Economic Development Board, to explore market potential for handloom products.
