ISRO and NARL celebrate inaugural National Space Day at MBU
Tirupati: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the National Atmospheric Research Laboratory (NARL-Gadanki) celebrated the inaugural National Space Day at the Mohan Babu University (MBU) campus in Rangampet near Tirupati on Thursday.
The event commemorated the first anniversary of the successful soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the moon's southern polar region, a historic achievement that earned the day the designation of "National Space Day”.
ISRO Chairman Dr. S. Somanath thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making the occasion memorable by officially declaring it as Space Day. MBU Chancellor M. Mohan Babu expressed gratitude to ISRO for selecting the university as the host.
The day-long event featured an interactive "Space on Wheels" exhibition, virtual reality simulations of the lunar surface, and thought-provoking lectures on interplanetary missions. Over 1,000 students from 30 colleges and 25 schools attended the celebration, which reaffirmed MBU's commitment to fostering academic excellence in the space sciences.
