JS MLA Pulaparthi Ramanjaneyulu elected PAC chairman
VIJAYAWADA: Jana Sena MLA Pulaparthi Ramanjaneyulu has been elected as the new chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
Polling for chairmanship of the PAC had been held in the Assembly Committee Hall under the preferential voting system.
Significantly, this is the first time in the history of AP Legislative Assembly that an election has been held for PAC chairmanship. Further, it is also the first time that the chairman’s post has gone to a member of the ruling combine.
As a matter of convention, it has been the custom to give chairmanship of the Public Accounts Committee to the main opposition party.
As per results of the elections held for the three finance committees from the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly for the financial year 2024–25, members of the Government Accounts Committee are Ananda Babu Nakka, Arimilli Radhakrishna, Ashok Reddy Muthumula, Burla Ramanjaneyulu, B. Jayanageswara Reddy, Kolla Lalitha Kumari, Rajagopal Sriram, Ramanjaneyulu Pulaparthi and Vishnu Kumar Raju Penmatsa.
The Estimates Committee members are Bhuma Akhila Priya, Bandaru Satyananda Rao, Jayakrishna Nimmaka, V. Jogeswara Rao, Kandula Narayana Reddy, Maddipati Venkata Raju, Parthasarathi Valmiki, Pasim Sunil Kumar and Eluri Sambasiva Rao.
The Public Sector Undertakings Committee members are Aitabaththula Ananda Babu, Eshwara Rao Nadukuditi, Giddi Satyanarayana, Gauthu Sirisha, Koona Ravi Kumar, Kumar Raja Varma, R.V.S.K.K. Ranga Rao, Tenali Shravan Kumar and Vasantha Venkata Krishna Prasad.
