Kakani slams Naidu's I-Day speech, criticises governance
Tirupati: Former minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy has strongly criticised Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's Independence Day address, accusing him of being the "brand ambassador" for anti-people policies.
Speaking in Nellore, Reddy condemned Naidu for not addressing pre-election promises and likened his comments on terrorism and dictatorship to a thief accusing others. He accused Naidu of prioritising real estate over public welfare in the development of Amaravati and challenged the CM to justify claims of the state’s debt reaching ₹14 lakh crore. Reddy also alleged that Telugu Desam Party leaders have engaged in illegal sand mining since the election results.
Reddy criticised the showcasing of a chariot for the "Thalliki Vandanam" scheme, which he claims was not implemented this year, and accused Naidu of favouring "Red Book" governance while neglecting promises. He condemned Naidu’s 14-year tenure as CM, claiming it brought no significant benefits to the state, and highlighted the alleged harassment of 16 senior IPS officers as unethical governance.
Reddy also questioned the yellow paint on Anna Canteens and criticised the reliance on donations instead of government funds. He condemned the discontinuation of welfare schemes while boasting about basic meals for the poor. Additionally, he targeted actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan, accusing him of ignorance in his Independence Day speech and of incorrectly attributing certain cases to the previous YS Jagan Mohan Reddy administration.
