Vijayawada: A man was apprehended in Kakinada on Wednesday after attempting to steal gold ornaments from a jewellery shop using a dummy pistol.

According to I Town police, the man entered a jewellery shop under the pretext of selecting ornaments for purchase. While pretending to browse, he grabbed some items, brandished a pistol to threaten the staff, and attempted to flee. However, shop employees, with the assistance of traffic police, managed to chase and capture him. The suspect was subsequently handed over to the police.
