Kakinada:Kakinada Rural MLA Pantham Venkateswara Rao (Nanaji) has alleged that several canals from ADB Road to Thimmapuram via Godarigunta area in Kakinada City have been encroached upon by individuals. He demanded a thorough investigation into the matter during a Zilla Parishad meeting held on Saturday, chaired by ZP Chairperson V. Venugopal.
Nanaji, representing Jana Sena, insisted that buildings constructed on these canals must be demolished to restore the waterways.
During the meeting, members emphasised the need for supplying quality seeds to farmers for the Rabi season. Venugopal urged farmers to begin Rabi operations in the first week of December. Discussions also covered issues related to seeds, sand supply, and medical and health services.
