Keshav says CM Naidu monitored pensions distribution on first day
ANANTAPUR: Finance minister Payyavula Keshav claimed a grand success for the NTR Bharosa pensions distribution that covered more than 95 per cent of the beneficiaries in a day.
"Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu worked hard to make this a success. The amount was reached to every gram sachivalayams by June 30 and kept ready for distribution," Keshav told DC. He launched pension distribution at Old Street in Uravakonda town on Monday after offering prayers and holding a meeting with the beneficiaries.
“The CM personally led the process from June 27 after directing the distribution centres to draw cash on June 30 and to keep this ready at every gram sachivalayams for distribution on July 1 with target of cent per cent coverage. The money reached more than 95 per cent beneficiaries at every centre. Some beneficiaries were out of station and hence they could not get it. IT minister Lokesh and his team were deputed on a mission to clear the hassles," he said, adding that the entire route map was laid by the CM.
Keshav also stated that an average of `48000 as pension for a year was equal to a beneficiary earning five acres of irrigated land in Rayalaseema region.
