KIA to Build Three Model Anganwadi Centres

Anantapur:Kia India on Friday launched its next phase of CSR activities encompassing a series of initiatives for infants, adolescents, pregnant mothers and farmers, apart from taking up activities promoting environmental sustainability and empowering farmers. KIA inaugurated the CSR initiatives at Munimadugu village in Penukonda mandal. Kia India’s chief administrative officer (CAO) Kabdong Lee, along with programme beneficiaries and United Way of Hyderabad, attended the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Kabdong Lee said, “Kia is excited to unveil a range of CSR initiatives. Our fruit tree plantation project will boost agricultural productivity and foster an eco-friendly environment. Development of the Model Anganwadi centres underscores our dedication to make a positive social impact through holistic community development.”

The CAO said Kia will construct three Model Anganwadis in villages of Bojjireddypalli, Duddebanda and Munimadugu The new centres will provide a safe and nurturing environment, designed to support comprehensive child and mother care.

The Anganwadi centres will focus on enhancing the nutritional and health status of children under six years, as well as supporting adolescent girls, pregnant women, and nursing mothers. Each centre will feature a range of facilities designed to cater to the needs of children and mothers. The facilities include antenatal care room, outdoor play area, toilets, kitchen and classrooms.

Kia’s second CSR initiative is a comprehensive fruit tree plantation project aimed at empowering farmers through sustainable farming practices. This project will benefit over 600 farmers across 20 villages in Penukonda and C.K. Palli mandals.

By planting 40,000 fruit trees, Kia aims to provide local farmers an additional income source, while also supporting environmental sustainability.
