Konaseema: Bridge named after Collector who sanctioned Rs 1 Cr for its construction

Himanshu Shukla Ramasetu is second bridge named after collector in district

Kakinada: A newly erected bridge connecting the Lutukurru and Pasarlapudi villages in Dr B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district is named after the district collector. The Himanshu Shukla Rama Setu is the second bridge named after the collector in the district.

The vital infrastructure project will benefit the habitations of Lutukurru, Komarada, Makannapalem, Adurru, Madakapalli and Gogannamatham under Pasarlapudi Lanka Village Panchayat of Mamidikuduru mandal.

The Pasarlapudi Lanka panchayat members have unanimously passed a resolution to name the bridge after Himanshu Shukla, the collector, who made “tireless efforts” to complete the project at a cost of `1.01 crore.

He mobilized the funds from various grants like a `25 lakh from the MP LADS, `35 lakh from the Zilla Parishad and `41.20 lakh from the district mineral fund.

The 75-feet-long and 25.6 feet-wide bridge is set to transform the lives of around 15,000 people from seven villages, providing them a critical link to the Amalapuram town.

Previously, the people of these villages faced numerous challenges due to the dilapidated condition of the old gravel and cement path, which often became impassable during heavy rains.

The people of the Pasarlapudi lanka village said that the bridge was not just an infrastructural development; it was a testament to what can be achieved when community needs are prioritized and government officials like Himanshu Shukla acted with care, foresight and dedication.

Earlier, a bridge connecting the villages of Mamidikuduru and Appanapalli was named after “Shukla Varadhi’’, in honour of collector Himanshu Shukla.
