Kurnool: Inter-caste Love Sparks Fight in Police Station

Kurnool: A tense situation unfolded at the Allagadda Rural Police Station in Nandyal district when a couple in love and the bodyguard of local MLA Bhuma Akhila Priya had a confrontation on Sunday.

It all started after a plea for protection from the couple and quickly escalated into a heated dispute involving multiple interests.

The couple were Sai, a young woman from Chagalamarri in Nandyal district and Praveen, a software engineer hailing from Mydukuru in Kadapa district. They have been in love for three years. However, their plan for marriage faced strong opposition from Sai's family due to caste differences.

Faced with threats, the couple sought assistance from the Allagadda Rural police. At the station, heated arguments followed between the couple, Sai's family members and Praveen’s family. The situation got further complicated with the presence of Nikhil, a bodyguard to MLA Akhila Priya, who was a friend of Sai's elder brother.

The girl's elder brother and Nikhil attempted to physically attack Praveen. Circle inspector Hanumanthu Naik ordered Nikhil and the girl's brother to leave the premises. The confrontation ended there.
