Kurnool News: Rs 1 Crore Worth Kits for Flood Victims: Minister T.G. Bharat
Kurnool: Industries Minister T.G. Bharat announced 10,000 kits wort h Rs 1 crore have been prepared to aid flood victims in Vijayawada. The kits, supported by Kurnool District Telugu Desam Party MLAs, constituency in-charges, and local leaders, will be distributed on Tuesday. Contain essential items like 5 kg of rice, 1 kg each of jaggery and sugar, upma rava, mirchi powder, and more will be distributed in Vijayawada on Tuesday, said T.G. Bharat. He also expressed gratitude to the party workers and donors for their contributions in supporting flood relief efforts.
Mother, son die in road accident
Kurnool: A mother and her son, Kanthamma (40) and Jagadeeshwar Reddy (17), died in a road accident in Allagadda, Nandyal district. They were traveling from Hyderabad to their village on a two-wheeler when they lost control and collided with a truck. At Perayapalle Metta in Allagadda mandal, they lost control of the bike and collided with a truck. Both Kanthamma and her son died on the spot. Allagadda rural police have shifted the injured Venkataramana to a hospital and are investigating the case.
Swati Mahotsavam celebrated at Ahobilam
Kurnool: Swati Mahotsavam was celebrated on Sunday at the famous Ahobilam's Vaishnava shrine, featuring Swamy’s birth star Swati. A Sudarshana homam was performed in front of Swamy and Ammavaru. Prahlada Varada Swamy, along with Sridevi, Bhudevi, and Sudarshana Murthy, were beautifully adorned and displayed in the mandapam at the temple entrance. Devotees participated in the ceremony, receiving sacred offerings like Homa prasadam worshipping the Lord. The event concluded with a Maha Mangala Harati, led by the head priest, Kidambi Venugopalan.
Missing body found in Prakasam
Kurnool: Ravi Naik, a 30-year-old man who went missing two days ago, was found in the right canal of Nagarjuna Sagar in Prakasam district. The Bandlamotu police have been searching for the missing person since Saturday. Ravi Naik, who worked at a private hospital in Vinukonda, had left for his hometown on a bike at Bollapalli on Friday night. His family reported him missing when he did not return home, and on Saturday morning, his abandoned two-wheeler was found on the canal bank at Bridge Tanda. Family members suspect foul play, alleging that someone from a nearby village might have pushed him into the canal. A complaint was filed with the Bandlamotu police, who have been searching for the missing person since Saturday. The body was finally recovered on Sunday.
Youngster dies in mishap on festival day.
Kurnool: A 19-year-old boy from Tarakarama Nagar died from an electric shock during Vinayaka Chavithi celebrations in Dhone on Saturday night. He was trying to cover the Ganesh Mandapam with a plastic sheet when he came into contact with live electric cables. Despite being rushed to the hospital, doctors confirmed his death.
