Kurnool: VHP demands crackdown on illegal cow slaughter

Kurnool: Vishva Hindu Parishad leaders have demanded strict action against those transporting cows illegally for slaughter.

VHP state president Nandireddy Saireddy, district president Gorantla Ramana and city president T.C. Maddileti told media on Tuesday that cows, considered divine by Hindus worldwide, are being slaughtered just to hurt Hindu sentiments.
They underlined that despite repeated petitions by Vishva Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal and other charitable organisations, authorities concerned have not taken any concrete action.
The VHP leaders alleged that police who provide information about illegal cow slaughter in areas of Andhra Pradesh are being harassed with bind over cases. They said the transport department, which should prevent illegal transportation of cows, municipal department, which should close down illegal slaughterhouses, and animal husbandry and revenue departments, which should coordinate these efforts, are not making any attempts to stop cow slaughter.
Leaders of the Vishva Hindu Parishad warned that if this situation continues, they will take up direct action.
