Lalit Bohra takes charge as new DRM of Waltair Division

During Lalit Bohra's tenure at MNRE, he also served as Director General of the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) and was on the Board of Directors for Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd and Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd

Visakhapatnam: Lalit Bohra, a 1988-batch officer, assumed charge as the new divisional railway manager (DRM) of Waltair Division on Monday in Visakhapatnam.

Previously, he served as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), where he played a key role in national initiatives like the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, PM-KUSUM scheme, wind energy policies (including offshore wind), green energy corridors, and the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for solar manufacturing.

During his tenure at MNRE, he also served as Director General of the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) and was on the Board of Directors for Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd and Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd.

His railway career includes roles as Chief Commercial Manager, Chief Passenger Transportation Manager, Chief Public Relations Officer, and Deputy General Manager (General). As Chief General Manager at Container Corporation of India, he was instrumental in developing India’s largest dry port at Khatuwas Terminal and implementing double-stack container train operations.
