Polls: Naidu Urges Tamil Nadu Voters To Support NDA
Naidu asked Tamil Nadu people to be wise and not to miss the opportunity of voting for NDA candidates and electing a "double engine" government that travels with "bullet speed"

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday urged voters in Tamil Nadu to support the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance in the April 23 polls, saying it would fast-pace development, welfare and job-creation.
Naidu, along with Union commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal, addressed the media in Chennai. The CM recalled the relationship between AP and Tamil Nadu and noted that the state produced several prominent personalities and civil servants.
He alleged that vested political interests were affecting the state’s development and said Chennai was no longer keeping pace with Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
Referring to the Women’s Reservation Bill, Naidu criticised the DMK, the Congress and other parties for opposing it and linking it to the delimitation debate. He said, “By blindly opposing the initiative, they caused a huge loss to women and the southern states. When I speak so, I am branded as anti-South. I have long innings in politics. How would I support anything that causes injustice to southern states? In fact, I am trying to strengthen the southern states.”
Naidu recalled the Telugu Ganga Project and said interlinking of rivers with support from the NDA government would help Tamil Nadu secure adequate water supply.
He criticised the Trinamool Congress and Samajwadi Party along with the Congress over the Women’s Reservation Bill and questioned Rahul Gandhi and MK Stalin on their opposition.
The AP chief minister said Tamil Nadu needed employment opportunities and development through a “double engine government” and urged voters to support the NDA. He said it was too early to assess the political prospects of actor Vijay, who recently launched a political party.
