Leopard Kills Goat, Sheep at Yemmiganur

Kurnool: Residents of Yemmiganur town and surrounding villages have expressed concerns over the leopard movement. Local shepherds reporting an incident of a leopard killing a goat on Tuesday near a tank at the Susheelamma Hills, the location which is very close to the town, has increased their fears. The leopard, which resides in the nearby hills, has been roaming the nearby villages in search of prey.

Despite informing forest officials about the leopard's movements, locals claim the authorities have been negligent. They fear that the leopard might venture into human settlements at any moment and possibly attack humans. In a related incident, a leopard killed 10 sheep on a hill near Gavigattu in Pedakadaburu mandal on Tuesday. The affected shepherds—Pedda Eeranna, Ayyappa, Muniswamy, Uligaiah and Gadireddy—alerted forest officials and requested that the leopard be captured.
