Locals rescue man at Eluru railway station

Kakinada: Onlookers on Thursday saved the life of a 30-year-old when he was trying to commit suicide near Eluru Railway Station and informed the police.

Narra Gopi of Nagendra Colony at Eluru reportedly planned to fall under a running train. As he was walking on the track with a distressed mood, locals near a Masjid noticed him and they dragged him from the track.
They dialed 112 for the police control room and informed the police. Eluru Two town sub-inspector Y. Krupa Danam and head constable Sundar Raju rushed to the spot.
The police took him to the police station and counseled him. Danam said the youth works in an oil shop and ran debts of over Rs 3 lakh.
Due to his failure to clear the mounting debts, he wanted to end his life. Later, he was handed over to his family members.
