Lokesh announces new investor-friendly IT policy in AP

VIJAYAWADA: IT minister Nara Lokesh said the Chandrababu Naidu government will soon bring a new IT policy to attract IT industry to Andhra Pradesh.

He made the announcement while holding a review meeting with officials of the information technology (IT) and electronics department on Saturday.

Lokesh asked officials to submit details about incentives that should be extended to attract new IT and electronics companies to the state. He inquired whether the state government is due any incentives that have not been paid to the IT companies by the previous government.

The minister asked officials to prepare a plan to make Visakhapatnam an IT hub and Tirupati an electronics hub. “We will then invite all big companies known in the IT and electronics sector to invest in the state,” he remarked.

Secretary (IT and Electronics) Kona Sasidhar, Special Secretary B. Sundar, AP Technology Services managing director M. Ramana Reddy, AP Innovation Society CEO T. Anil Kumar, and RTGS director Cherukuvada Sriram were among those who participated in the meeting.
