Lokesh Invites All to Dec. 7 Parents-Teachers’ Mega Meet
Vijayawada: Education minister Nara Lokesh on Friday called on all to participate in the mega parents-teachers’ meet called on December 7 throughout AP for resolving issues plaguing the academic sector, strengthening schools and ensuring that students excel.
In an open letter to people, the minister underlined that the meeting has been called to build a bridge between students, teachers and parents, assess the children’s learning abilities, and identify their problems, so that students could improve in subjects or areas in which they are lagging behind.
Lokesh wanted everyone to attend the December 7 meetings, rising above political considerations, so that the level of academics could be raised. The occasion can be utilised by parents to inform teachers about the interest of their children in specific sports or arts, so that the overall development of students could be ensured.
The minister appealed to all public representatives from ward to parliament level and from sarpanch to Chief Minister level to take part in the meeting for making it a success.
Stating that the aim of the state government is to keep academics away from politics and bring students and their parents closer to teachers and education system, Lokesh appealed to public representatives attending the meeting not to carry their respective political flags or wear specific scarves.
"I also heartily welcome donors and alumni who have contributed to the progress of their respective schools. I request voluntary organisations to become partners in this parents-teachers’ meet," the minister added.
