Lokesh invites US industrialists to benefit by creating jobs in AP
VIJAYAWADA: Information technology, electronics and education minister Nara Lokesh, on the last day of his visit to the USA, informed industrialists of New York City about the visionary ecosystem that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has created for setting up industries in Andhra Pradesh. In particular, he informed them about the special incentives they can get for starting enterprises that generate employment on a large scale.
Lokesh asked New Yorkers to come up with a blueprint, which would lead to the Economic Development Board of AP immediately issuing them permissions to start their industries without any delay.
“Andhra Pradesh has the most favourable atmosphere, which no other state has in India, for setting up your enterprises,” the minister underlined at the meeting in New York.
He explained, “AP has the largest road connectivity with a wide coastal network extending to 974 km, along with air connectivity. An international airport will come into operation at Bhogapuram near Visakhapatnam in just 18 months. Four new ports will be available at Mulapet, Kakinada Gateway, Machilipatnam and Ramayapatnam. Human resources with skills required for your industries will be readily available.”
Lokesh disclosed that necessary changes are being brought in the curriculum of various universities and different colleges in AP to train youth in different skills to meet the needs of emerging industries.
He expressed the hope that the proposed Artificial Intelligence (AI) University being established in the capital city of Amaravati will produce AI experts of global standards.
“Andhra Pradesh is marching on a progressive path. Invest in the state, become partners in the growth of AP, and benefit,” the minister reiterated.
Tom Franco, senior adviser of Clayton Dubilier & Rice, Tod Rupert, CEO of Rupert International, and several other top industrialists were present at the meeting.
