Lokesh to invite IT companies to AP

Vijayawada: Senior minister Nara Lokesh said on Saturday that he would invite more IT companies to set up units in AP. Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha said she intended to change the policing system in the state.

The departments of human resources development (HRD), Information Technology (IT), electronics and communication as also the Real Time Governance (RTG) portfolio have been granted to minister Nara Lokesh.

In a press note released after the allocation of portfolios on Friday, Lokesh said that as minister for Panchayat Raj in the earlier government, he could transform the rural areas. As the IT minister, he could invite several companies to the state to set up their units and provide employment to the youth in the 2014-19 term, he claimed.

Recalling the promise that he has made to the people during his Yuva Galam pada yatra that he will bring in radical reforms in the education system from KG to PG, the minister said, “As a product of Stanford University, I feel that it is my bounden responsibility to strengthen the education system in the rural areas.”

Lokesh promised to provide employment to the youth on a large scale by inviting IT and electronics companies to set up their units in the state.

Home minister Vangalapudi Anitha has made it clear that there will be a change in the police system. She said, “Some policemen need to change their ways. Otherwise we will change it ourselves. We will reopen the murder cases like Chandraya in Macherla. TD workers and leaders have faced difficulties for the last five years; hence Illegal cases will be reviewed.” Agriculture minister K Atchannaidu said he will carry out the responsibility entrusted to him with integrity and work for the welfare of the farmers and agricultural development.

“In the last five years, the YSRC government has corrupted the agriculture department. In the next five years, we will speed up the development of agriculture in the state,” he said.

He added, “We stand by the farmers in every way from seed to sale. Efforts will be made to increase farmers' income. All schemes like subsidized machinery, machine tools and micro irrigation provided to farmers during the previous TD government will be restored.”
