VIJAYAWADA: Minister for education Nara Lokesh, will inaugurate the Mid-Day Meal Scheme for Intermediate Students at the Government Junior College in Payakapuram, on the outskirts of Vijayawada, on January 4. This year, the state government has extended the Mid-Day Meal Scheme to Intermediate students, in addition to Primary, Upper Primary, and High School students, with the necessary orders issued to support the initiative.
Ahead of the launch, the director of intermediate education Kritika Shukla, along with Samagra Shiksha state project director B. Srinivasa Rao and NTR district collector Dr G Lakshmisha, inspected arrangements at the college. Originally planned for Machilipatnam on January 3, the launch has been rescheduled for Vijayawada on January 4.
Shukla and other officials ensured preparations were in place, with a main dais to be set up for the event. After the launch, Minister Lokesh will have a mid-day meal with the students and later interact virtually with them.
Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Commissioner HM Dhyanachandra, NTR District Intermediate Education Officer C Siva Satyanarayana Reddy, and Vijayawada RDO K Chaitanya were also present during the inspection.( Source : Deccan Chronicle )
