Kakinada: Education minister Nara Lokesh will unveil a bronze statue of Ratan Tata at Peda Amiram village near Bhimavaram in West Godavari District on Monday. The statue has been installed by Undi MLA and Deputy Speaker K. Raghu Ramakrishnam Raju.

Before this event, Lokesh will inaugurate the renovated building of the historic Zilla Parishad High School at Undi village, which was renovated at a cost of Rs. 80 lakh. He will also lay the foundation stone for the Undi-Bhimavaram link road.

Later, he will attend the Sankranthi Sambaralu programme at SRKR Engineering College’s open grounds. In the afternoon, Lokesh will visit Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Steel Bhupathi Raju Srinivasa Varma, who recently lost his father, to offer his condolences.

During British rule, there was a school named "Taylor" in Narsapuram, and later, the Vijayanagaram Maharajas established a high school in Undi named the "Zilla Board High School." Many renowned scholars, politicians, and academicians from the delta region studied there. However, the school had fallen into disrepair. After being elected as MLA, Raghu Ramakrishnam Raju initiated plans to renovate the school, and the renovated infrastructure will be inaugurated by Lokesh on Monday.
