Malabar multinational naval exercise in October : ENC chief

Visakhapatnam: Flag Officer, commanding-in-chief Vice Admiral Rajeswh Pendharkar said the Eastern Naval Command was looking forward to the forthcoming multinational maritime exercise Malabar-2024, to be held this October, and the Navy Day celebrations in December.

Addressing the gathering at the Independence Day ceremonial parade held in Visakhapatnam on Thursday, the Vice Admiral has congratulated all personnel for their commitment towards significant achievements of the Sunrise Command, including anti-piracy operations, and conduct of Milan – 2024, the largest ever multilateral maritime exercises by the nation.
The parade comprised marching contingents of naval personnel, defense security corps and sea cadet corps. The Vice Admiral inspected the 50 men armed guard and reviewed the parade. He appreciated the men and women on parade for their fine drill movements and excellent turn out. He conveyed greetings to all naval personnel and families of ENC on this occasion.
On completion of the parade, Vice Admiral Pendharkar has interacted with participants, spectators, families, veterans and awardees of honorary commission ranks. The engagement underscored the community spirit and shared pride in the nation’s heritage. Earlier in the morning, Vice Admiral G. Srinivasan, Director General naval projects, has placed a wreath at the ‘Victory at Sea’ memorial located at RK Beach, Visakhapatnam. This event was held to honour the sacrifices made by the naval heroes and to celebrate the enduring spirit of India’s independence. The ceremony was marked by a 50-men guard of honour as a token of respect to the naval heroes on the occasion of Independence Day.
