Maulana Azad a Role Model for Youth: Collector Ansaria
Kurnool: Prakasam district collector A. Thameem Ansaria praised Maulana Abul Kalam Azad for his pioneering role in educational reforms and his commitment to education, encouraging the youth to follow his ideals. The praise came during a program held on Monday at St. Theresa's High School campus in Ongole, celebrating Azad’s birth anniversary, Minority Welfare Day, and National Education Day.
District collector Ansaria, Ongole MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, and Ongole City Mayor Gangada Sujatha paid floral tributes to Azad on the occasion. Thameem Ansaria noted that the district's literacy rate currently stands at 62% and emphasized the importance of striving for 100% literacy by educating children up to the degree level. MP Srinivasulu Reddy highlighted Azad’s contributions as the country’s first Education Minister, which led to significant reforms in the Indian education sector. Mayor Sujatha stressed the transformative power of education in changing mindsets.
On the occasion, the collector, MP and others felicitated SK Sardar, a retired RTC employee and Urdu grade-1 pandit Mahboob John for their contributions to the development of minority communities.
