Vijayawada: Information minister Kolusu Parthasarathy questioned the opposition YSR Congress party about the funds borrowed by the Jagan Mohan Reddy regime.
“Explain whether you have invested the funds in creating wealth for the state or squandered them on indulgences,” he demanded.
The minister accused YSRC leaders of collaborating with each other to keep the poor impoverished. In this regard, he highlighted issues such as unpaid fee reimbursements and state debts that kept piling up.
Speaking to the media, Parthasarathy alleged that the previous government had destroyed Andhra Pradesh in all sectors. However, the coalition government led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is making all efforts to put the state back on track.
He pointed out that in the past seven months, MoUs worth Rs 6.33 lakh crore have been signed with various companies, including TCS, NTPC, ArcelorMittal, HBC and Reliance. “This will generate millions of job opportunities,” he declared.
The minister objected to the criticism regarding the report by NITI Aayog on AP’s financial situation. He maintained that it is the previous government's mismanagement that had caused irreparable damage to the state's economy.
Parthasarathy highlighted the coalition government's efforts to secure Rs 31,000 crore from international organisations, such as the World Bank, HUDCO and others for development of Amaravati as capital.
He asserted that under the "Super Six" promises, the state government has already implemented the Deepam Scheme by providing women with three free gas cylinders annually and increasing the social pensions from Rs 3,000 to Rs 4,000 on the very first day of Chandrababu Naidu taking over the government.
