Visakhapatnam:Tribal people shall be properly provided support prices for their products through the network of tribal-affiliated basic societies, said tribal welfare, women and child welfare minister Gummidi Sandhya Rani in a review meeting held at the office of Visakhapatnam Girijan Co-operative Corporation (GCC).
During the meeting, the minister reviewed tribal products with officials at the GCC office. She emphasised the need to ensure the collection of surplus agricultural produce from tribal farmers in competition with private traders and adding value to their products.
The minister asked the GCC managing director Kalpanakumari and other officials about the measures to ensure better sales returns for these products. She further instructed them to develop a plan for GCC's growth and focus on profitability.
Before the meeting, she visited the Vizag GCC office and was welcomed by the GCC managing director.
